GRAHAM KENDRICK'S songs are known around the world, and have become part of Christian worship in many nations – songs such as The Servant King, Knowing You and of course his most famous; Shine Jesus Shine. But now, in a return to his poetic song writing roots and a departure from his usual congregation-centred approach, Graham has produced a set of songs that resonates with his excitement and passion for the events surrounding Christ’s birth. The result is Dreaming Of A Holy Night launched as an album last year, and going on tour for the first time in November and December 2008, with thirteen dates in the UK and five dates in Holland.
Graham’s top class band and singers (click for more info), will be joined by local choirs for a presentation based on the album, described as “songs of wonderment at the incarnation, and longing for the fulfillment of what began on that holy night.”

Graham explains: “At it’s core beats a heartfelt longing for a different kind of world – where the peace and goodwill we associate with the best of the Christmas season becomes a reality for everyone.” He adds: “Our hope is that the concerts will not only bring Christians together in worship, but be the kind of event to which they can confidently bring not-yet-Christian friends; an environment where they can encounter the nativity story in a fresh, creative and inspiring way".
The words and music of Dreaming Of A Holy Night explore the mystery and wonder of the Nativity, tapping into a rich vein of imagination, empathy and insight. The songs explore history’s greatest story both from the inside - courtesy of the characters of Joseph and Mary, Elizabeth and Zechariah, and from the outside – looking back at the incarnation, celebrating it’s meaning for today, and it’s hope for tomorrow.
