[ story behind the song ] The inspiration for Call The Seeker came as I picked up my guitar with the desire to put into song a kind of 'purpose statement' for my home church at a particular point in our journey. It seemed to me that one of the things God wanted to do was to form us into a community where his presence is tangible, and his ministry actual, where people are attracted to his love, grace, and power to make broken people whole. The Gospel accounts of Jesus cleansing the Temple courtyard, and then welcoming into the newly-cleansed space those who were normally excluded - in his day represented by the lame, the blind and the children, came to mind as a background story to reference. Of course, such a 'purpose statement' is not exclusive to any one local expression of church, and so I offer it as something that you might want to consider using where you are. It can be a long time between albums, so I decided to make a respectable 'demo' to show you how it might sound in a particular arrangement. You are welcome to download the sheet music free of charge, but if you use the song just make sure you include it when you do your CCLI returns. Let me know how you get on with it !
