[
story behind the song ]
A
good friend of mine who is one of the most godly people I know,
tells me that when he first read James chapter 1, verse 2, his reaction
was that it was utter nonsense. He has since become living proof
of its utter wisdom.
Offensive
as it is to our love of complaint, self-pity and blaming others,
it is the authentic way of Christ who, for the joy set before
him, endured the cross...

lyrics ]
Though trials
will come
Dont fear, dont run
Lift up your eyes
Hold fast, be strong
Have faith, keep on believing
Lift up your eyes
For God is at work in us
Moulding and shaping us
Out of his love for us
Making us more like Jesus
Consider it
joy, pure joy
When troubles come
Many trials will make you strong
Consider it joy, pure joy
And stand your ground
Then at last youll wear a crown
Though trials
will come
Wont fear, wont run
Well lift up our eyes
Hold fast, be strong
Have faith, keep on believing
Well lift up our eyes
For God is at work in us
Moulding and shaping us
Out of his love for us
Making us more like Jesus
Joy, pure joy
Consider it joy, pure joy
Joy, pure joy
Consider it joy, pure joy
Patiently trusting
him
Ready for anything
Til were complete in him
In everything more like Jesus
Consider it
joy, pure joy
When troubles come
Many trials will make you strong
Consider it joy, pure joy
And stand your ground
Then at last youll wear a crown
Then at last youll wear a crown
Then at last youll wear a crown
